Fuel For the Fiya : Alpha Coffee

Located at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Alpha coffee shop is a great place to spend an hour or two après hike, or morning ski. There is seating indoors and outdoors, depending if you want a place to pop open your laptop, or desire to sit out in the sunshine with a cup of coffee.

They have an array of sweet and savory pastries, muffins, cookies, and breakfast burritos, plus protein bars and other beverages. Their prices are about what you’d expect for high quality treats and java. You can also buy bags of whole bean coffee, or have it ground to your specificity. And you can feel good about it, because they donate bags and bags of coffee to the troops overseas.

I have personally had their signature drinks The Aztec (spicy) and The Viking (buttery) and can say they were really good. If you are hiking, climbing, biking, skiing, or otherwise bumming around the canyon in the morning and want some good coffee and a little something to refuel afterwards, this is a great spot.
